Founded in 1823, Sidmouth Cricket Club is one of Devon’s largest cricket clubs. Founder members of the Devon County Cricket League, Sidmouth has 3 League XI's playing throughout the regular League season. The Club also enters the Play-Cricket National Knockout competition.
The Club has one of Devon’s largest Colts sections with around 100 youngsters (ranging in age between 9 and 17) participating most weeks. Competitive fixtures are staged for Under 15, Under 13, Under 11.
Sidmouth plays host to many touring teams each year some of whom have been coming for more than 50 years.
The Club's main ground, The Fortfield, is one of Devon’s finest. Devon CCC has staged 1st team one day and three day matches at the ground and it is also used regularly by various Devon age group sides.
Our second home ground, Bicton College, is an excellent facility within easy reach of The Fortfield.
Sidmouth Cricket Club is part of a larger sports club which also offers tennis and croquet during the summer months and hockey during the winter.
The Club boasts an extensive pavilion, which hosts many internal and external functions, and the Club Bar offers a friendly and jovial environment for post-match celebration.
Sidmouth Cricket Club has two main social functions each year. These are the Players Supper in April and the awards night dinner in November.
