Founded in 1823 Sidmouth Cricket Club is
one of Devon's best known clubs. It was here, in 1875, that Somerset County

attractive overlooking the sea and within touching distance of the esplanade
and the town centre.
Founder members of the Devon Cricket League, the Club has three
sides playing throughout the league season. The 1st XI compete in the Devon 1st XI Premier
Division, the 2nd XI in the Devon 2nd XI Premier Division and the 3rd XI are in
the 2nd XI B Division(East). As well as Saturday League fixtures, the Club
hosts Sunday and Midweek friendlies. The club has a very active Colts section
supported by qualified coaches.
The Devon Minor County side also stage both
one and three day matches on the ground. Various other Devon age group sides
also use the ground..
The club also has a new second ground at Newton Poppleford, a
few miles out of town. It is an excellent facility which the club's grounds man
and staff have responsibility to maintain.
